Commissioning a New Work

The creation of a new piece of music is always an exciting process for the composer, conductor, ensemble, & your audiences.

There are many reasons that you might want to commission a work, and regardless of the nature or impetus to do so, it all begins with a conversation and sharing of ideas. From there we begin to identify some key aspects to the project that include some if not all of the following:

Dedication (is this in memoriam or dedicated to a particular individual or anniversary?)
Scope (who is performing and what are the performing forces?)
Special Considerations (what are your ensemble’s strengths and needs or aspects to highlight?)
Timeframe (when do you hope to have a completed work for performance)
Cost (determining an appropriate fee for the work depending on the above factors)
Contract (drawing up a contract that outlines all of the above)

Message me to schedule a time to begin brainstorming together.
